I always say begin with the END in mind, so I want you to imagine making it to al-firdaus a’la. Not just in economy class but first class seats on Emirates. If you know, you know..
Yazid ibn Yabnus said, "We went to 'A'isha and said, 'Umm al-Mu'minin, what was the character of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, like?' She replied, 'His character was the Qur'an. Can you recite the sura entitled "The Believers"?' She said, 'Recite:"It is the believers who are successful: those who are humble in their prayer; those who turn away from worthless talk; those who actively pay zakat; those who guard their private parts." (23:1-5)' She said, 'That was the character of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.'"
Certainly will the believers have succeeded:
Qad before fi’l maadi- 2 benefits tahqeeq/ta’keed, something becoming established thaabit, not just expected but for sure, necessary for it to pass. Also taqreeb, will happen very soon. Those who have these characteristics will be in jannah.
أَفلَحَ ف ل ح falaha to split or cleave, fallah farmer, splitting earth to make sure seeds go in. eventually benefits from the profit. Not partial success, but complete success. Saved from harm. Success from work and effort, not just luck.
ٱلمُؤمِنُونَ - one who has imaan, believes in akhira. Tasdeeq bil qalb, and amal jawarih.
First Characteristic - Have Khushoo' in Prayer
They who are during their prayer humbly submissive
خَـٰشِعُونَ خ ش ع خَاشِع - one humbly submissive, khashi’ one who is humble, khasha’a to bend
down. Inner dimensions of prayer. Submissiveness of heart reflected in limbs.
Muhammad ibn Sa’d reported: Abu Darda, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Seek refuge in Allah from the reverence of hypocrisy.” It was said, “What is the reverence of hypocrisy?” Abu Darda said, “It is that you see the body in reverence, but the heart is not reverent.”
Fudayl ibn iyadh- it was disliked for a man to show more khushoo then they had in their heart. A man was seen having khushoo and they said khushoo is in heart not in shoulders.
Khudoo’ physical submissiveness. Need khushoo (physcial aspects) and khudoo’ fear of Allah watching.
When heart doesn’t worship properly then actions all over the place, if heart is showing off or when praying by oneself they pray quickly. Shows lack of understanding if you pray quickly when no one around.
Don’t need to pretend, actions show. If heart not in salah, then sign our connection with Allah is weak.
"The first thing to be lifted up (taken away) from this Ummah will be al-Khushoo; until you will see no one who has al-Khushoo. (Tabarani, in Kabeer)

And they who turn away from ill speech
thoughtless utterances, speech, refuse to indulge
Life is precious, we have confused relaxing with killing time. A person can’t focus on salah if they indulge in laghuw and one can’t have purpose if they do laghuw. Heart becomes saturated, heart somewhere else.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:“ Part of a person’s goodness in Islam is his leaving alone that which does not concern him. Min husnil islami tarkahu ma la’yanheeh
Also “whoever believes in Allah and last day let them stay quiet.” Shouldn’t want to be center of attention.

حَـٰفِظُونَ حَافِظ protect, preserve from external dangers or getting spoiled
Protect private parts from haram way, protect them from exposure. Abstain from haram enjoyment. If one listens watches fahsh they desire and do it. Chastity is prereq for being successful, body, desire souls purity. Limit to what Allah has allowed only. Not success if you cheat on someone, or watch indecent haram videos, or have haram relationships.
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed -
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors -
Characteristic 5-6 Keep Trusts and Promises
And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive/guarding them.
لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِم ء م ن أَمَانَة - trusts, these are placed or entrusted on someone. Could be of deen or dunya or what Allah legislated. Body, position, kids are amanaat. Khiyana is to not fulfill trust properly. Can’t waste wealth. Can’t abuse children
وَعَهْدِهِم responsibility one takes upon themselves. Nadhr for Allah, appointment, commitment with someone

Characteristic 7 - Pray on Time
And they who carefully maintain their prayers.
Those are the inheritors
Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally.
« إِذَا سَأَلْتُمُ اللهَ الْجَنَّةَ فَاسْأَلُوهُ الْفِرْدَوْسَ، فَإِنَّهُ أَعْلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَأَوْسَطُ الْجَنَّةِ، وَمِنْهُ تَفَجَّرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ، وَفَوْقَهُ عَرْشُ الرَّحْمن »
If you ask Allah for Paradise, then ask him for Al-Firdaws, for it is the highest part of Paradise, in the middle of Paradise, and from it spring the rivers of Paradise, and above it is the (Mighty) Throne of the Most Merciful.)
Umar said- "When revelation came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), one could hear what sounded like the drone of bees before his face. One day revelation was coming to him, he faced the Qiblah, raised his hands and said: 'O Allah! Increase us, do not diminish us. Favor us, do not withhold from us, make us pleased and be pleased with us.' He (ﷺ) said: 'Ten Ayah were revealed to me, whoever abides by them shall enter Paradise (and they are): 'Successful indeed are the believers...' until the completion of then Ayat (23:1-10).
