Quran Camp

Each person is $200 after For boys only, ages 13+ Tuesday, May 31st 9 AM to Thursday, June 2nd, 4 PM. Camping in Wawona campground near Yosemite park. Will have 3 full days of reminders, activities and knowledge.

Activities Schedule for Ilmscape Yosemite May 31 – June 2nd

Please arrive to MCYC Elk Grove (3155 Elk Grove, CA) by 9 AM. I have arranged for transportation for 16 people and might be able to get more iA.

Leave MCYC at 10 AM

Prayer times: Fajr: 4:40-6, Duhr:1, Asr:5, Maghrib:8, Isha:9:20

Tuesday

10 AM – Leave for Yosemite

1 PM arrive at Yosemite park, Wawona Campground

1:30 Assign tents, setup for camp, settle in and make wudu, tour of the campground and river area

2 – Pray dhuhr and asr

2:15 - Campfire area, camp rules, Big circle ice breakers. Speech on 5 obligations of Quran

3:15 - Late lunch : Turkey sandwiches, Capri sun and chips

4:15 – Go to Giant trees and Mariposa Grove. Hike to Grizzly Giant (Reminder about the tree of Imaan)

7 – BBQ dinner

8 -  Sports:  soccer or football -Waseem and AbdulKarim

9 pray maghrib and isha reminder about Surah Al-Asr and read evening duas and adhkar

9:45 - campfire, light fire – sunnahs of sleeping, jinn stories

11 PM – lock up all food, lights out

Wednesday

5 AM – Fajr reminder about Quran at fajr, Quran circles read Surah yaseen and morning dua/adhkar and salat duha

6:15 – Go back to bed

9 AM – Prep and eat breakfast Eggs and croissant, cereal, granola bars

10 AM – Drive to Yosemite village. Hike to lower Yosemite falls, Vernal and Nevada Falls and other scenic sites

2 PM – Eat lunch on your expense at the restaurants in town

2:30 – Pray Dhuhr and Asr

3 PM – Watch movie about Yosemite falls, check out the museum

4 PM – Bridalveil Falls, other scenic sites by the village

5 PM – head to Glacier point. Have snacks and a picnic there. Reminder: Reflecting on Allah’s creation 3:190-195

8 PM – head back to Wawona campground

9 – Pray maghrib and Isha, eat dinner, snacks, chips, cheese sauce and breadsticks

10 pm – camp fire, spoken word, poetry or singing. $10 gift cards for winners.

11 PM – Lights out

Thursday

5 AM – Fajr reminder about Quran at fajr, Quran circles read Surah Rahman and morning dua/adhkar and salat duha

6:15 – Go back to bed

9 AM – Prep and eat breakfast eggo waffles, cereal, granola bars

Camp rules

  1. Do not draw, write or carve on camp buildings, equipment or      natural surroundings; it spoils the looks of the camp.
  2. No profane and vulgar language, fighting or talking back.
  3. Sickness or injury must be reported to one of the counselors      immediately.
  4. Absolutely no one can go by the river without a camp      counselor
  5. Permission to use a mobile phone must be obtained from the      director.
  6. Inappropriate or suggestive literature, posters, etc., are      prohibited and will be a cause for you to leave the camp with no refund.
  7. Clothing that exalts a high moral standard and modesty is      expected.
  8. Food or drinks of any kind are not allowed in the tents      because they attract wild animals. Can be brought but locked in storage      bins.
  9. All campers are expected to participate in the camp program
